Una delle più belle cascate del Canton Ticino è la cascata del Botto, situata nel quartiere di Rovio, lungo il torrente Sovaglia.
La sua altezza è di 68 metri e la portata dipende dalle precipitazioni. Dopo le piogge la portata è notevole e la nebulizzazione dell'acqua sulla roccia sottostante davvero spettacolare. Ma durante i periodi secchi c'è normalmente poca acqua e l'impatto visivo ed emozionale è sicuramente più labile.
Quando c'è grande portata d'acqua è anche pericoloso attraversare il ponte data la grande nebulizzazione d'acqua. Portate con voi un'abbigliamento adatto se volete goderne appieno la vista.
La cascata è raggiungibile dal sentiero 13, sia da Melano in circa mezz'ora lungo il sentiero in salita, sia da Rovio in poco più di 10 minuti con una facile passeggiata dal parcheggio situato dietro la chiesa parrocchiale.
Botto waterfall
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the canton of Ticino is the Botto waterfall, in the district of Rovio, on the Sovaglia stream.
It is 68 metres high and its flow depends on rainfall. After rain the flow is considerable and the spray of water on the rock below is truly spectacular. In dry periods, however, there is usually little water and the visual and emotional impact is certainly weaker.
When the water is high it is also dangerous to cross the bridge because of the heavy spray. Bring suitable clothing if you want to enjoy the view to the full.
The waterfall is reached along trail 13, either from Melano in about half an hour on the uphill path, or from Rovio in little more than 10 minutes with an easy walk from the car park behind the parish church.

Einer der schönsten Wasserfälle des Kantons Tessin ist der Wasserfall del Botto im Quartier Rovio, am Bach Sovaglia.
Er ist 68 Meter hoch, und seine Wassermenge hängt vom Niederschlag ab. Nach Regen ist sie beträchtlich, und das auf den Felsen darunter zerstäubende Wasser ist ein wahrhaft spektakulärer Anblick. In Trockenzeiten führt er dagegen meist wenig Wasser, und der optische und emotionale Eindruck ist deutlich schwächer.
Bei grosser Wassermenge ist es wegen des starken Sprühnebels auch gefährlich, die Brücke zu überqueren. Nehmen Sie passende Kleidung mit, wenn Sie den Anblick in vollen Zügen geniessen wollen.
Der Wasserfall ist über den Wanderweg 13 erreichbar: von Melano in etwa einer halben Stunde auf dem ansteigenden Weg oder von Rovio in gut 10 Minuten mit einem leichten Spaziergang vom Parkplatz hinter der Pfarrkirche.
